A staffer at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia proposed to his girlfriend on the DNC floor Sunday night.
Andrew Binns, the chief innovation officer of the Democratic National Convention, played a slideshow with photos of himself and fellow DNC staffer Liz Hart as he got down on one knee on the main stage at the Wells Fargo Center, an NBC Philadelphia report shows. The video ended with a shot of the ocean and "Will you marry me?" written in the sand.
Hart said yes and the two shared an embrace before being congratulated by friends.
Hart told Daily Mail that the DNC was the one event where they have so many friends and colleagues all in one place, and Binns arranged for their families to be present as well.
"I thought we were just taking another photo together, but it turned out to probably be the best photo that we'll ever have!" Hart told NBC Philadelphia.
The couple moved to Philadelphia to work on the DNC together, according to Daily Mail.
"We've been working on the convention for a long time; it's a historical point of our history, and now a historical point for us," Binns told NBC Philadelphia.
Binns and Hart first met in Mumbai while working on a trip to India with Joe Biden in 2013, according to Daily Mail. The two had their first date at the Taj Mahal.
