LOUISVILLE, Ky. - LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Former Louisville basketball player Luke Whitehead has been arrested on drug charges after police found five pounds of marijuana at his home.
Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley says Whitehead was arrested Thursday morning after detectives recovered the drugs, two handguns, digital scales and $4,680 in cash during a search of his house.
Whitehead has been charged with drug trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Whitehead's attorney Derwin Webb said Whitehead will be arraigned on Friday morning, with bond set at $50,000. Whitehead will plead not guilty according to Webb.
Whitehead, 28, played at Louisville from 2000-04, averaging 9.1 points and 5.6 rebounds during his career with the Cardinals.
