Police seek man who stole peacock from Dallas neighborhood

DALLAS - Authorities are seeking a man who snatched a wild peacock from outside a Dallas house.

Home security video shows the man walking up to the male peacock, then grabbing the bird and taking off in an SUV.

Homeowner Lisa Solis filed a report with Dallas police following Saturday night's incident. Solis says the animal was taken as it called out to possible mates.

The security video shows the male, with its colorful plumage extended, near some female birds. A man is seen walking up, grabbing the bird by its legs and dragging the animal away. Nearby residents heard the bird's screeching.

Neighbors say the flock has roamed the area for more than 20 years.
