CARMEL - One primary race for state Assembly is heating up as a newcomer challenges Republican Steve Katz in the 94th district. Incumbent Assemblyman Steve Katz, a veterinarian from Yorktown, and Putnam Valley business owner Dario Gristina listened to seniors' concerns today at the Putnam County Office for the Aging's picnic. While at the picnic, Katz said there's still corruption in Albany. He also said the state could save millions by cutting lawmakers' salaries and wasted time on the job. His opponent, however, sees it differently. "How about we spend more useful time?" said Gristina, the former husband of alleged Monroe madam Anna Gristina. "How about we do more and we work on the problems one by one instead of finger-pointing and saying the Democrats won't let us do anything?" The winner of the race will face off against Carmel attorney Andrew Falk. Polls will be open for primary voting from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
