Prolific character actor Harry Morgan, who appeared in more than 100 films and was best known for his role as Col. Sherman Potter on "M*A*S*H," died Wednesday at his Los Angeles home at 96.
Morgan won an Emmy in 1980 for his work on the comedy series, playing the commanding officer of a U.S. Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War. He appeared on the show from 1975 to 1983.
He also played Officer Bill Gannon on the crime series "Dragnet" from 1967 to 1970.
