Brooklyn-born sportscaster Al Michaels is scheduled to appear in court June 26 on drunk driving charges, according to documents from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Michaels, 68, an NBC sportscaster most famous for his “Do you believe in miracles? YES!” call for when the U.S. hockey team beat the Soviets during the 1980 Winter Olympics, was arrested around 10 p.m. Friday in Santa Monica, Calif., and charged with driving while under the influence.

Bail was set at $5,000 and Michaels, the play-by-play announcer for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” who is renowned for his commentary of NFL games, was released early Saturday morning. Attempts to contact Michaels’ representative were unsuccessful.

Michaels moved to NBC in 2006 after nearly three decades with ABC.
