A college roommate of Andy Rooney went into cardiac arrest Wednesday at a memorial service for the CBS newsman.
Paramedics performed CPR on the man -- identified as Bob Ruthman by TMZ.com -- and rushed him from the Century Club in midtown to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital around 2 p.m., according to the FDNY.
A source said Ruthman was in grave condition Wednesday night.
Spokesmen from the Century Club and the hospital didn't return calls for comment by press time.
Rooney and Ruthman were roommates at Colgate University in the 1940s, according to TMZ.
Rooney died last week at the age of 92, a month after his last segment for "60 Minutes", where he had been a staple for 33 years.
