Chef Jesse Schenker, formerly of Gordon Ramsay at the London NYC, yesterday opened a new urban, contemporary American restaurant in the village. This TriBeCa coffee bar, which will open on Monday, will be the first coffee bar in New York City to source coffees from various roasters. RBC NYC will also be the first coffee shop on the East Coast to use a highly specialized espresso machine known as The Slayer—only 20 of which machines exist worldwide. Named for river in Maryland, this seafood restaurant will focuse on the cooking styles of the Chesapeake region. The interior is decorated in a nautical theme and includes a large, open raw bar. Maryland flavors abound on the menu with Old Bay seasoning, crab chowder and soft pretzels with mustard. This is ramen like you’ve never tasted it! Matsukado is a Japanese noodle and small plate restaurant. The menu boosts 20 types of ramen noodles with interesting add-ins like stir-fried lobster.
