Barenaked Ladies to pen songs for 'Animal' show
Time to take your toga out of the closet: A musical version of "National Lampoon's Animal House" is in the works. The rock band Barenaked Ladies has signed on to write the score, and Casey Nicholaw, who staged the smash hit "The Book of Mormon," will direct.

Sondheim gripes about current musicals
Stephen Sondheim, who revealed last week that he is finally working on a new musical, isn't hiding his displeasure with the current state of musical theater. "Unfortunately, nearly everything on Broadway is commercial crap. The same is true of the West End," Sondheim told the U.K. Times. He also described "The Book of Mormon" as just a "fun college show."

'Cosby's' Raven-Symoné confirmed for 'Sister Act'
The producers of "Sister Act" confirmed Wednesday that Raven-Symoné, best known for her work on the TV shows "That's So Raven" and "The Cosby Show," will take over for Patina Miller later this month as disco-singer-turned-nun Deloris Van Cartier. The show, which received a Tony nom for Best Musical last season, has been suffering at the box office in recent months.

'Ghost' to replace 'Whitney' with 'Britney'
Don't expect the upcoming Broadway production of "Ghost the Musical" to conjure Whitney Houston. It's been confirmed that the show has removed a lyric about "Whitney" flipping her lid and replaced it with "Britney" doing the same.
