Behind the Curtain: Michelle Williams to join Alan Cumming in 'Cabaret'

After months of extended delay, Roundabout finally confirmed on Wednesday that it will indeed bring back its lauded 1998 revival of “Cabaret” and that Alan Cumming, who won a Tony for his performance as the Emcee, will return to the role. It was also revealed that film actress Michelle Williams (“My Week with Marilyn”) will play Sally Bowles, the role played by Liza Minnelli in the musical’s 1972 film version.

Once injured Tierney finally departs ‘Spider-Man’
Christopher Tierney, the dancer-stunt performer who was famously injured in an early preview of “Spider-Man” almost three years ago, has finally left the show. “Spider-Man” press agent Rick Miramontez remarked to Playbill.com that “Chris Tierney is now and forever a bona fide superhero in the eyes of the ‘Spider-Man’ family.”

‘Sunshine’ swaps Will Chase for Will Swenson
Will Chase, who was going to co-star in William Finn’s musical adaptation of “Little Miss Sunshine," which starts performances at Off-Broadway’s Second Stage next month, has withdrawn from the show in order to appear on the television series “Nashville.” He will be replaced by another Will, namely Will Swenson, who played Berger in the hit Broadway revival of “Hair.”

Bierko delays run in ‘Matilda’ due to injury
Craig Bierko, who was supposed to take over for Bertie Carvel as Miss Trunchbull in “Matilda” on Tuesday night, has postponed his start date due to an unspecified injury. Until he enters, Miss Trunchbull will be played by understudy Chris Hoch.
