Bill Clinton is NYU's commencement speaker

Former President Bill Clinton will be New York University's commencement speaker this year, the school has announced.

Along with giving the address at the May 18 ceremony at Yankee Stadium, Clinton will receive an honorary doctorate of laws, said NYU spokesman John Beckman. The former president will not receive an honorarium for his address, Beckman said. Music industry mogul Clive Davis is among others who also will receive honorary degrees.

The school is giving Kenneth Feinberg its Albert Gallatin Medal for Outstanding Contributions to Society. Feinberg has acted as administrator of the Sept. 11 victims' compensation fund and the BP oil spill fund. Restaurateur Danny Meyer will be given the Lewis Rudin Award for Exemplary Service to New York City. -- AP
