A Brooklyn man was charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of a woman with whom he had a relationship, police said Saturday.
John Brandon, 51, killed Deborah Blount, also 51, in their apartment in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, police said. Police discovered Blount's body in the bedroom of their Eastern Parkway apartment after responding to a call Friday at 2 p.m.
The woman died from slash wounds to her neck that cut her jugular and carotid artery, said Ellen Borakove, spokeswoman for the medical examiner's office.
Brandon was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon. It was unclear Saturday whether the weapon that killed Blount had been recovered.
