A pair of 9-month-old twins in a stroller in Sunset Park was struck in a three-car accident yesterday afternoon that left one of the infant boys in critical condition, police said.
At about 1:20 p.m., a livery cab with three passengers heading south on 4th Avenue between 44th and 45th streets hit a double-parked minivan from behind, police said. The minivan, in turn, struck a legally parked pick-up truck, forcing it up a sidewalk and hitting a 21-year-old woman and her twins.
Seven people were injured and taken to the hospital. Besides the seriously injured infant, all the others were in stable condition. The investigation is continuing but police said the livery car cabbie is facing charges for driving with a suspended license.
