Opening night for the buzzworthy new revival of the Tennesse Williams classic "A Streetcar Named Desire" brought with it an equally buzzworthy audience.
amNewYork took in the show at the Broadhurst Theater - which features a multi-racial cast that includes Blair Underwood (left) playing Stanley and Broadway vet Daphne Rubin-Vega playing Stella - as did bevy of big names (Michael C. Hall, Al Roker and wife Deborah Roberts) and theater icons (Edward Albee and Michael McKean).
After the show, the crowd braved the downpour and headed to the Copacabana for an appropriately New Orleans-themed soiree, complete with jambalaya and gumbo cooked up by chefs the New Orleans Tourist Board had flown in from the Big Easy.
At the party, we spied Beau Bridges - who earlier in the day performed in Broadway's "How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying - and "Awake" star Steve Harris - whose brother, Wood Harris, is in "Streetcar."
