Get your hands dirty and then clean - and help out superstorm Sandy victims while you're at it - with a soap-making event at Make Meaning, a creative activity destination on the Upper East Side and Upper West Side. Stop by with the kids Monday evening for some FREE soap making. There will also be a diaper drive on site for donations. All soaps, diapers and proceeds will be donated to Baby Buggy, a charitable organization helping families in Staten Island and the Rockaways. '50 Years of Rocking the Art World - A Celebration of The Rolling Stones'
So how does it feel to be like a rolling stone? Here's your chance to find out - sort of. Stop by the Broome Street Gallery for "50 Years of Rocking the Art World - A Celebration of The Rolling Stones," presented by Symbolic London. The exhibit honors artists who have been commissioned and inspired by the iconic British rockers. Also on display will be Bob Dylan's original handwritten lyric sheet to "Like A Rolling Stone." Justice Lost: The Fight to Free Damien Echols
This Saturday, stop by the New York Law School for a day dedicated to the West Memphis Three, a group of three teens convicted (many believe wrongfully) for the murder of three boys in West Memphis, Ark., in the early '90s. The three men, including alleged ringleader Damien Echols, right, were recently released from prison due to new evidence presented in the case. Echols will be on hand, along with his defense team, for an advance screening of the documentary "West of Memphis" and a panel discussion.
