Patti Smith will be at Barnes & Noble Union Square Thursday night promoting "Banga," her 11th studio album, and her first in eight years. The eclectic collection of songs on the album includes a ballad in memory of Amy Winehouse, a birthday song for Johnny Depp and a piece about Amerigo Vespucci's journey to North America. Shakespeare in the Park
Take part in the time-honored tradition of FREE Shakespeare in the Park, celebrating its 50th anniversary season this summer! The shows are FREE to the public (performances began this Tuesday), but they are ticketed, so if you want to ensure a spot for yourself and whomever you want to take along to serenade with the bard's prose, line up any day this weekend outside the Delacorte Theater in Central Park or check out the virtual ticketing system online to nab your tix - you're limited to two per person. With all the hype and hoopla around biking in NYC these days, Copenhagen, another biking metropolis, is offering New Yorkers a chance to showcase their love of all things on two wheels to enter for a chance to win a FREE trip to Copenhagen.
