'In Pieces'
Though plenty of LEGO sculptures are truly artful, the toy brand is now officially making the move from toy store to art gallery with "In Pieces," a new exhibit from New York-based contemporary artist and sculptor Nathan Sawaya in collaboration with award-winning Australian photographer Dean West. Various locales in California, Toronto, New York, Utah and Nevada provide the 2-D scenes to which Sawaya has created corresponding and complimentary 3-D LEGO brick sculptures, meant to look like they are native to the settings. See if you can spot the LEGO tree here or towel there - some are harder to find than others. The exhibit will at the Openhouse Gallery in SoHo through March 17. (Opens Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, FREE, Openhouse Gallery, 201 Mulberry St.,
