Former Jets running back Shonn Greene has found a new home in Tennessee, but don't expect teammate Chris Johnson to like it.
Johnson, who has been the Titans' primary back since 2009, told the
Tennessean on Wednesday that he has "never been a big fan of the two-back system" and is wary of the three-year, $10-million contract Greene signed this offseason.
"I'm not afraid of competition, but I was thinking we'd maybe get a draft pick for the other back," Johnson told the Tennessean. "And you don't give a guy that kind of money to be just a goal-line guy and in tough-yardage situations."
Johnson, who is scheduled to earn $10 million this season, admitted he does not "mind a guy getting a carry or two. But if I am the main guy and it is supposed to be my team ... it shouldn't be an issue." Greene carried 276 times for 1,063 yards last season with the Jets. Johnson also had 276 carries in 2012, but ran for 180 more yards than his new backfield teammate.
