The sound is a little harder to peg. The Detroit duo is all over the place, from crunchy garage rock, to hipster lo-fi to power pop, etc. Which would be a negative if they weren't actually so good.
The band played The Studio at Webster Hall on Thursday night, and it was a show full of energy and excitement. They were goofy and charming between songs, but when they were playing, they were rocking.
Joshua and Daniel switched off on different instruments for each songs, with each of them alternately banging on a big drum set on stage between them (they were supported by a drummer with a full kit as well). It was a controlled chaos that added to the vibrancy of the show.
Prediction: They will lose the outfits in a year or two, on the way to becoming something great.
