Police in New York City are searching for two men who shot a state corrections department officer and his wife during a botched home invasion robbery in Queens.
The suspects forced their way into the home shared by 58-year-old Henry Wright and 52-year-old Sharon Floyd-Wright in the Jamaica section of the borough just before 7 p.m. Sunday.
Police say one or both of the men shot Wright five times in the torso and Floyd-Wright once in the left shoulder.
The suspects fled the scene on foot in separate directions. It's unclear at this time whether the couple was targeted.
The couple was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where Wright is listed in critical condition after suffering life-threatening injuries.
Police say the suspects are in their 20s or 30s.
