Donald Trump, de facto leader of the “birther movement” lately and possible 2012 presidential candidate, ramped up his rhetoric yesterday about President Barack Obama being born in another country, while at the same time trotting out what he said is his own birth certificate.

"Why doesn't [Obama] show his birth certificate? I wish he would, because I think it's a terrible pale that's hanging over him,” Trump, 64, said on "Fox and Friends" yesterday.

Since Obama released his “certificate of live birth” from Hawaii in 2008, many have had doubts about its authenticity, claiming he’s not eligible to be president as he is not a U.S. citizen.

The real estate mogul released his birth certificate yesterday to conservative website Newsmax, a vocal leader in the birther movement.

But according to The Smoking Gun, the document Trump gave the website isn't an authentic, city-issued certificate, but rather one produced by Jamaica Hospital in Queens, where Trump was reportedly born.
