Fans of Dr. Oz are getting more of their favorite celeb health guru: Hearst is teaming up with the Emmy Award-winning doctor to publish a new lifestyle magazine geared toward women.
The magazine will offer fresh content with an optimistic attitude, addressing the physical and emotional well-being of women, including content centered on food, beauty, news, travel and finances, according to Hearst Corp.
It will publish features based on real women’s stories as well.
“This is about a lifestyle,” Mehmet Oz said in a statement. “Feeling great is the key to living well and this content will provide women with everything they need to feel inspired and live a long, healthy, joyful life.”
The magazine follows the success of Food Network Magazine, launched in 2008, and HGTV Magazine in 2011, the corporation said.
A 350,000-copy pilot issue will hit newsstands nationwide in the first quarter of 2014. A second issue is planned for the second quarter, but future issues will depend on the success of the first releases.
“Hearst has a very successful track record of partnering with unique brands and personalities to create engaging content for readers,” Hearst Magazines president David Carey said.
