It’s that time of year again, when eager shoppers turn the city into one big block party. Here’s a look at just some of the events taking place on Fashion’s Night Out on Sept. 8.


alice + olivia
755 Madison Ave., btwn 65th and 66th sts.; 80 W. 40th St., btwn Fifth and Sixth aves.
The always-fun alice + olivia is hosting a full-on shopping carnival, complete with vintage games, jugglers, fortune tellers and cotton candy.

Barneys New York
600 Madison Ave., btwn 57th and 58th sts.
Barneys takes the high road for FNO and is donating 10%of the entire day’s and night’s sales (both in-store and online) to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

Bergdorf Goodman
754 Fifth Ave., at 65th St.
Michael Kors is making an appearance in the windows to celebrate 30 years of being stocked by the retailer. More into cutesy fun? Designers such as Joseph Altuzarra and Reem Acra are strutting their stuff in a designer dog show accompanied by their canines.

1000 Third Ave., btwn 59th and 60th sts.
It’s sure to be a madhouse at Bloomie’s with the countless events and appearances, including by Rachel Zoe, Milly’s Michelle Smith and Erin Wasson. Edun’s Ali Hewson is hosting a “Truth or Lie” game in which she and a special guest tell shoppers a story and have them decide whether it’s true or false. We’re betting the guest is Hewson’s hubby, Bono.

Carolina Herrera
945 Madison Ave., btwn 74th and 75th sts.
Purchase a signature Carolina Herrera white shirt and receive complimentary monogramming on-site.

655 Madison Ave., at 60th St.
It’s a celebration of New York street style at DKNY. With a $250 purchase, shoppers receive a tote with a DVD of the beyond-fabulous documentary “Bill Cunningham New York,” about the photog. Free haircuts are being offered compliments of Blind Barber, and street shutterbugs are set to snap away.

Henri Bendel
712 Fifth Ave., btwn 55th and 56th sts.
For one night only, the Lower East Side shakes up Fifth Avenue when the Hester Street Fair takes over Henri Bendel in honor of FNO.  Curated by the trusty, fashionable Hester team, the third floor is being invaded by more than 50 local artists, designers, chefs and craftsmen scheduled to be on hand.

J. Mendel
732 Madison Ave., at 64th St.
Designer Gilles Mendel hosts this fete, where Vogue editors help shoppers find chic looks. Plus, with any purchase, shoppers are entered in a raffle to win two tix to the J. Mendel fashion show.

The classic brand throws this can’t-miss soiree, with DJ AndrewAndrew spinning all night, an appearance by Foster the People and Patron popsicles and cocktails.

The Marimekko Shop at Crate and Barrel

Crate and Barrel and Marimekko invite creative shoppers to assemble necklaces made from the Marimekko’s signature bold fabrics.

Polo player and RL campaign hunk Nacho Figueras hosts FNO at Ralph Lauren Prince Street with downtown beats spun by Ralph Lauren’s runway models.

Victoria’s Secret

Get your photo taken with VS Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Erin Heatherton and Lily Aldridge while scoring makeovers and a fragrance preview.

Intermix’s evening includes the debut of a limited-edition collection of exclusive must-haves from Rachel Zoe (who is set to make an appearance), ALC, Helmut Lang, J Brand, rag & bone, Jocelyn, Adrienne Landeau and Hunting Season. Revelers can sip cocktails created by mixologist Bols Genever.

Fashion and décor are the stars of the show, with the chock-full-of-treasures thrift store displaying both new and vintage designer clothing and home items. Also, an auction of new designer furniture, accessories and clothing is set to take place.

Extended shopping hours and a Champagne reception is on the menu at super-chic Balenciaga, along with the fashion house’s newest arrivals to drool over.

Before designs go down the catwalks during Fashion Week, Loehmann’s is hosting a runway show of its own showcasing hot looks for fall 2011. Also on hand at the Chelsea outpost of the store: promotions, special sale items, refreshments and music.

Macy’s Herald Square

Among the dozen of events going on at this mega-store, shoppers can expect to get a glimpse of Tommy Hilfiger, Coco Rocha, Rachel Roy and Amar’e Stoudemirea. Hang out in Sean John’s FNO Club Room where shoppers can receive a VIP bracelet to take a turn against Diddy in  a game of billiards.

Sarah Jessica Parker joins the shoe designer who“Sex & the City” made a household name for the launch of a Parker-Blahnik shoe. A portion of proceeds goes to the Fund for Public Schools.
