Fashion Week: Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection 2011 report

Red Dress

A catwalk packed with 20 celebs kicked off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Wednesday during the annual Heart Truth's Red Dress runway show at Lincoln Center, which draws attention to a national awareness campaign about women and heart disease. Julianne Hough started the show in a Swarovski dress, followed swiftly by starlets Eva Amurri in a swingy Chris Benz number, Dita Von Teese in a va-va-voom Zac Posen creation and Taraji P. Henson in Naeem Khan.

Denise Richards took to to the runway in Matthew Williamson and masses of 70's-style chestnut waves, while a painfully (but not surprisingly) awkward Audrina Patridge sparkled (and nearly tripped) in a blingy Badgley Mischka number.

The crowd went nuts for Patti LaBelle, who hammed it up, mouthing along with her hit "I Got a New Attitude" and swinging the kimono sleeves of her Zang Toi dress. Suzanne Somers looked as if she was waiting to board The Good Ship Lollipop (read: absurd) with a blunt blonde fringe and a mini tutu-style dress by Ina Soltani more sutable for a child's first Christmas than a 64-year-old woman.

Other standouts: A calm, cool and collected Ann Curry, a glowing Cat Deeley in Alberta Ferretti and a yes-she-really-is-that-skinny Giuliana Rancic who danced down the catwalk in Marchesa.
