The FDNY said Friday that a fire at the American Museum of Natural History has been brought under control, an official says. No injuries have been reported.

The FDNY says the building was evacauted. The initial call came in about 3:25 p.m.

An official with the fire department said the fire was initially thought to have originated on the fourth floor, but on further investigation it was traced to the first floor.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
