Former Mets outfielder Carl Everett was collared Monday in Florida for allegedly holding a gun to his wife's head, according to police in Tampa, Fla.
Everett, 39, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police responded to a fight at his house between him and his wife of 18 years, Linda.
During the scuffle Everett allegedly held a handgun to her head and broke two cell phones when she tried to call for help. He was reportedly still in jail last night.
Everett, who retired from major leagues in 2006, played for the Mets from 1995-97.
