Former child star Frankie Muniz is in the middle of a muddle.
Muniz, 25, the former star of “Malcolm in the Middle,” released a statement yesterday disputing his girlfriend’s account that he attacked her and held a gun to his own head, possibly “with the intent of committing suicide” in their Phoenix, Az. home on Thursday.
The weapon, a semiautomatic .380 handgun, played “no part” in the argument between Muniz and girlfriend Elycia Turnbow, “and was voluntarily given to the police for safekeeping,” according to a statement released by Muniz’s rep to TMZ. “There were no bruises and neither left the residence. He was not suicidal. She was not assaulted,” the statement said.
Muniz denied Turnbow’s report that he “punched her in the back of the head and threw her into a wall while in the downstairs bedroom,” claiming she attacked him and tried to take his laptop.
Police impounded the weapon and warned Turnbow and Muniz they would be charged with disorderly conduct if they were called to the residence again. Muniz reportedly told one responding officer he was incapable of hurting Turnbow, saying, “I love her too much. She is the woman I want to marry.”
