It’s now easily the holiest burger joint in town, but is it blessed enough to chase away a persistent curse?
A Catholic priest, a rabbi and a Buddhist monk — you read correctly — blessed New York Burger Co.’s third city franchise yesterday, which will open at 470 W. 23rd St., a Chelsea address that seemingly dooms any restaurant trying to do business there.
“We hope to get rid of the bad spirits and start a fresh and have a good vibe here,” owner Brice Moldovon told the New York Post.
Most recently, Il Bordello fell to the curse last year after just nine months, joining about a half dozen other failed restaurants at the spot, including Le Solex, Jerry’s Bar and Grill and the Flamingo Room.
New York Burger Co. will open on Dec. 14, and, fingers crossed, will prove the curse is toast.
