Police are interviewing the husband of a Flatbush woman who was shot to death Tuesday night in New Jersey, according to published reports.
Nazish Noorani, 27, and Kashif Pervaiz, reportedly 26, were walking with their 3–year-old son after a Ramadan family dinner in Boonton, N,J. when three gunman reportedly opened fire, according to Pervaiz. Noorani was shot near the heart, while Pervaiz suffered superficial wounds from the four bullets that hit him.
Their son, who was in a stroller, was not injured.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office was also questioning a suspect Thursday, reports said.
Thursday accounts suggested the shooting stemmed from a love triangle, and Noorani’s relatives cast doubt on Pervaiz’s account of the attack.
“I hope he’s not involved,” Noorani’s brother, Kaleem Noorani, told the Newark Star Ledger, adding, “I want the police to investigate and do everything right,”
Pervaiz “was divorced, or getting divorced,” Raul Santamaria, a neighbor of the couple in Boston, where the couple also had an apartment, told the Ledger. Santamaria said that he had seen Pervaiz with another woman several weeks before and heard Pervaiz and Noorani arguing.
The couple’s other son, 5, was not with them at the time of the shooting.
