A California woman testified that New York Jets star wide receiver Brandon Marshall punched her outside a Manhattan nightclub in 2012 as her civil suit against the all-pro got underway in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday.

“I was in excruciating pain,” said Christen Myles, who cried three times as she described how the 6-foot, 4-inch-tall, 230-pound wideout allegedly popped her following a melee inside the Marquee nightclub. “I was in disbelief. I couldn’t believe what had happened.”

Myles, 28, a former San Diego State University basketball player, said she was at the club with her brother and boyfriend for a birthday party, and had nothing to do with a fight that broke out inside involving Marshall, 32, and other clubgoers.

Her lawyer said Marshall was angry and struck Myles in an act of “machismo.” Marshall’s lawyer said he wasn’t the one who hit Myles, and accused her of seeking a big payday because he was an NFL star.

Both sides showed the jury grainy security video from outside the club. Marshall’s lawyer said it did not show him hitting her, but Myles said it showed him punching her in the left eye after she took a wild swing at a friend of his because she was infuriated that her birthday was spoiled.

“He needs to own up to what he did,” she testified. “He punched me.”

The trial is scheduled to resume on Wednesday.
