Looks like Plaxico Burress and his quarterback are finding a rhythm.
Mark Sanchez threw three touchdown tosses to Burress, including the go-ahead 3-yarder with 8:21 remaining, to help propel the Jets to a season-energizing 27-21 victory over the Chargers in front of 79,088 at MetLife Stadium yesterday."
I looked at myself and said I’ve got to play better," the 34-year-old Burress told reporters. The former Pro Bowler entered the game with just 15 catches this season. "It was not on anybody but myself."
The Jets trailed 21-10 at halftime before shutting out San Diego in the second half — their second double-digit comeback of the year.
Sanchez’s 4-yard touchdown pass to Burress pulled the Jets within 21-17, after which the teams traded three-and-outs before Philip Rivers’ pass glanced off Vincent Jackson’s fingers and into the hands of Darrelle Revis, who raced 64 yards up the right sideline.
Sanchez and Burress hooked up for the third time five plays later.
Sanchez completed 18 of 33 passes for 173 yards. Shonn Greene finished with a season-high 112 yards on 20 carries for the Jets, while Burress, Keller and Jeremy Kerley each had four catches.
