"Boyfriend" is PERFECT ... or at least Twitter thinks so.
Justin Bieber dropped his new single "Boyfriend" Monday morning just before midnight, and the Internet hasn't stopped freaking out since.
The Biebs seems to be channeling boy band vet Justin Timberlake in his latest single off his upcoming third full-length album, "Believe."
Produced by Mike Posner, the track is full of 808 drops and falsetto runs, and, more noticeably, a deeper-sounding Bieber.
After the single dropped, it sent iTunes into meltdown mode with the number of demands for the track. Biebs was none too pleased by the malfunction.
As iTunes cleaned up the mess, Beliebers took to Twitter to express their joy over the pop star’s first song as an adult.
Seriously OBSESSED with the new Justin Bieber song. I can't even contain myself. Also, my iPod playlist looks like one of a 14 y/o girl.— Joe Cutaia (@JoeCutaia) March 26, 2012
Justin Bieber - Boyfriend... The only reason why Monday is amazing.— ????? ? (@BieberFitness) March 26, 2012
His "Toy Story" reference ("I could be your Buzz Lightyear, fly across the globe") and love of fondue ("Swag swag swag, on you/ Chillin by the fire why we eatin' fondue") is making girls swoon, as expected, but also seem to be winning over some unlikely fans.
@justinbieber My dad doesnt listen to your music & so i made him listen to boyfriend last night & he was like 'DAYMN I BEEN MISSING OUT'.— Be My Boyfriend ? (@abbyluvs_bieber) March 26, 2012
Some Twitter users, however, refuse to Beliebe the hype.
Justin Bieber's new song makes me want to slit my throat, set myself on fire, break every bone in my body then shoot myself in the face— Harry Potter ? (@SmallGirlDanny) March 26, 2012
