Nuggets coach George Karl believes Carmelo Anthony's contributions to the franchise should one day be rewarded by taking his old No. 15 out of circulation in Denver.
"My gut feeling is, I don't know if you want to do it at a time when the fans are kind of angry and frustrated, and probably some fans are anti-Melo," Karl told the Denver Post Tuesday, the day before his team faced the Knicks in Anthony's first game back in Denver since being traded two years ago, "but in time, I would vote 'definitely, yes.'"
Karl became Anthony's coach early in the star forward's second NBA season in 2004. Anthony's Nuggets made the playoffs every year.
