An ex-teammate of Lance Armstrong said Thursday that the seven-time Tour de France winner used banned substances to cheat in racing, including the tour.
Tyler Hamilton, reportedly one of Armstrong's closest teammates, said that he, Armstrong and the rest of the U.S. Postal Service team injected themselves with and testosterone and EPO, which boosts red blood cells. Hamilton made the claim in an interview on "60 Minutes" that aired Thursday.
"I saw [EPO] in his refrigerator ... I saw him inject it more than one time like we all did, like I did many, many times," Hamilton said.
Armstrong's spokesman, Mark Fabiani, reportedly shot down the claim, saying Hamilton "duped" the TV show and that he's just trying to cash in on a lie. He added that Armstrong has passed about 500 drug screenings in his 20-year career.
