Lindsay Lohan is facing criminal counts on both coasts after a misdemeanor assault arrest Thursday in Manhattan and, hours later, charges filed by California prosecutors in connection with a June car crash.

The NYPD arrested Lohan, 26, at 4 a.m. Thursday outside the Chelsea nightclub Avenue after she allegedly struck Tiffany Eve Mitchell, 28, of West Palm Beach, Fla., in the face.

A police spokesman said that the "Liz & Dick" star was "involved in some type of dispute ... She struck another female patron in the face and was arrested a short time later outside the club."

Then, shortly after 9 a.m. Pacific Time, the Santa Monica Attorney filed three misdemeanor charges related to a June 8 crash in which Lohan's Porsche collided with an 18-wheel truck.

Lohan, who was taken to Santa Monica UCLA hospital as a precaution and quickly released, told police at the time she was not the driver.

Detectives, however, determined Lohan was behind the wheel, and prosecutors charged the actress with providing false information to police, reckless driving and willfully obstructing a police officer from their duties, according to The Associated Press.

No arraignment date was announced on the Santa Monica charges. Lohan was given a desk appearance ticket and released in the NYC arrest.

Her New York attorney, Mark Heller, said he expects the assault charge to be dismissed, calling Lohan "a victim" in a statement to the AP.

Lilo in NYC

Lindsay Lohan is in a constant state of trouble or semi-trouble with the law, and she has really kicked it up this year. Here are her most notable run-ins in New York:

-- Jan. 26, 2008: Accused of swiping a Columbia student's $11,000 blond mink coat after a night of partying at Meatpacking District club 1Oak. After the student's attorney threatened a suit, the coat was quietly returned.

-- May 13, 2010: Apparently jealous of the table where Rangers Aaron Voros and Sean Avery were sitting, Lohan allegedly tossed a drink at Voros' girlfriend, model Jessica Stam, then threw a fit. The starlet was allegedly kicked out.

-- Sept. 19, 2012: Accused of clipping a pedestrian outside Chelsea's Dream Hotel with her Porsche SUV. She was later arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, but left the station with a desk appearance ticket for the misdemeanor.

-- Sept. 30, 2012: Lohan claims she was attacked by Christian LaBella, a Congressional staffer she brought back to her W Hotel Union Square after partying at 1Oak (again). When Lohan grabbed his phone to delete photos he took of her, he allegedly got physical. Both were hit with minor harassment complaints, which does not require a court appearance.

-- Oct. 10, 2012: Police respond to a call reporting a disturbance after a reported fight between Lohan and her mother Dina at Lohans' Long Island home. No one was arrested, but officers made a domestic incident report.

-- Nov. 29, 2012: Lohan allegedly slapped another female clubgoer at Avenue in Chelsea. The actress reportedly attempted to sneak out the back to avoid police but was arrested around 4 a.m. and brought to the 10th precinct, where she was given a desk appearance ticket for misdemeanor assault.
