A boater is under arrest in connection with a fatal crash near the Statue of Liberty that left his wife and three young children unscathed.
Police say that charges against the 39-year-old man are still pending, and they haven't yet released his name. He was out on the water with his wife, 2-year-old daughter and two sons aged 2 and 3 on Friday evening when their 30-foot boat hit a smaller craft.
A 30-year-old man on the 17-footer was killed. The two other 30-year-olds on that boat were hospitalized in stable condition.
The Coast Guard, NYPD and federal parks police all responded to the scene near Liberty Island in New York Harbor to help the boaters.
