Emily Blumenthal, 38, is the founder of www.HandbagDesigner101.com and author of the new book “Handbag Designer 101.” She lives on the Lower East Side with her husband, Internet entrepreneur Asaf Klibansky, 36, and their children, Zoey, 4, and Charlie, 11 months.

Q: So the alarm goes off at …?

A: I have a human alarm clock. It calls “Mama! Mama!” every day by 6:30 a.m.

Q: What’s for breakfast?

A: I make the kids smoothies I’ve prepped the night before with strawberries, bananas, peaches, blueberries, peanut butter, skim milk and flax seed. Flax seed is supposed to be really good for something, but I can’t remember what. I’ll drink whatever is left in the pitcher or get an iced tea later at CVS.

Q: Then what?

A: I run to the gym! I’m checking my BlackBerry and answering emails while I’m on the treadmill. I only get 20 minutes, but it’s 20 minutes to myself. I run home and jump in the shower by 8:05. Then I get dressed and put socks and shoes on Zoey and Charlie. Either my husband or I take Zoey to school. At 8:30, the babysitter comes to take Charlie.

Q: Take him?

A: I work from home. I want the babysitter to wear him out so he’ll go to sleep when she brings him back at noon.  Make him do laps!

Q: Do you transfer things from purse to purse every morning?

A: No! I have four handbags —an oversized Zibba shoulder bag, a Jack Spade cross-body, a Carol Miller small cross-body and a black Deux Lux. I keep all my essentials — keys, credit cards, money — in one of my little Yasmena or Yazzy bags. They’re what started my career.
