Did you know aspirin is made from a tree? Trenesa Stanford-Danuser, vice president of Global Communications and Strategic Alliances for Origins Natural Resources and Ojon, divisions of The Estée Lauder Companies, wants you to know that and how all natural beauty products are the future.

Raised in Jacksonville, Fla., and currently residing in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, Stanford-Danuser launched Origins Plantscription, the integrative skin-care philosophy of Dr. Andrew Weil, as well as Origins Organics.

Stanford-Danuser helped Origins establish an industry first with the launch of the Return to Origins Recycling Program, which accepts cosmetic empties and submits them to be recycled or responsibly converted to energy. She oversees her products in more than 29 countries.

What’s new in the world of natural beauty?  We are so excited about our new product, GinZing. We are also expanding the franchise with new mascara and moisturizer, formulated with caffeine.

What’s so great about caffeine?  Caffeine revitalizes the skin, and gives it a natural boost.

What about GinZing? t’s nature’s clinically proven morning-after eye cream, instantly reducing dark circles, under-eye bags and puffiness. The Origins proprietary complex of caffeine from coffee beans, Panax Ginseng, magnolia extract and natural optic brighteners rapidly wake up, refresh and restore radiance to tired eyes.

Where did you go to school? University of Florida for broadcast journalism.

How did you get from journalism to Origins? I started as a storm chaser for the Red Cross and followed storms and hurricanes and worked for several years as a director of communications and national public affairs “Rapid Response” specialist (working closely with Elizabeth Dole) for the American Red Cross. [Then] my husband moved to Boston, and I started working with Braun’s Shave and Shape, Wonderbra, Cover Girl, Vidal Sassoon, Max Factor and Puig prestige beauty, as well as numerous non-beauty brands.

Why Origins? The future is so exciting for Origins, the pioneer in natural beauty. Natural ingredients work. I’m focused on proving that they work. This isn’t a noisy natural clutter brand, this is real all natural beauty that can brighten, lift and firm. Did you know even aspirin is made from the bark of a willow plant?

What’s unique about Origins? We don’t title the people working for us sales associates, we call them “guides.” We want to help guide you through your skin care concern and offer you a true immersive experience.

What do you love about Brooklyn? I live in a brownstone. And the Brooklyn Flea Market is near me and so is Pratt, which is filled with new young artists. I also love the Farmers Market. They have great cheeses, vegetables, artisans, green energy advocates and even compost [collection].

Do you let your daughter wear makeup? I have a 12-year-old daughter, and 4-year-old son. I brought home an eyeliner and mascara, which makes her feel grown up, and she loves the idea. But she’s obsessed with nail design.

Any advice? Be open to possibilities. I was brazen enough to think it was OK to do anything. You will surprise yourself where you will end up.
