‘Oz the Great and Powerful’
Director Sam Raimi leaves a bright new mark on the “Wizard of Oz” franchise with this visually-stunning prequel about hack circus magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco), who is whisked away from our world to Oz, where he has to save the locals from some familiar wicked foes. This is a fun time. (DVD, $29.99; Blu-ray, $39.99; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $44.99; Blu-ray 3-D, $44.99)

‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’
The fairy tale siblings — played by Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton — are all grown up and out for revenge against witches. (DVD, $29.99; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $39.99; Blu-ray 3-D/Blu-ray/DVD combo, $54.99)

‘House of Cards: The Complete first Season’
For those of you who don’t have Netflix — where this originally streamed — or you just like to own things, the first season of this political potboiler starring Kevin Spacey is now available. (DVD, $55.99; Blu-ray, $65.99)

‘The Newsroom: The Complete First Season’
Aaron Sorkin’s HBO series, which earned a mixed reaction, follows a newsroom from a few years ago. (DVD, $59.99; Blu-ray, $79.98)
