The NYPD has released a sketch of a man they say is a suspect in the separate attacks of two women in Manhattan's Union Square. Police said the first attack happened just after 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, and the second attack happened about 10 minutes later on West 17 Street. Police are investigating separate attacks on two women in Manhattan's Union Square.

The first attack happened just after 7:30 p.m. Monday in Union Square Park.

Police say a 28-year-old woman noticed a man looking at her. Police say the man then pulled a hammer out of a bag and struck the woman on the head.

The second attack happened about 10 minutes later on West 17th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues. Police say a 33 year-old woman was struck from behind and received a scalp wound.

Police say both women were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

There have been no arrests.
