Nicki Minaj is the newest addition to the "American Idol" judges' table, sources have told Us Weekly.
The rapper will be joining Mariah Carey as the newest judge. Rumors continue to swirl around who will fill the other judges' spot, which veteran judge Randy Jackson may be vacating to move into a mentorship role on the competition show.
Reps for FOX declined to comment on the report.
Minaj, whose latest album, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," debuted at No. 1 in April, is planning to start a world tour on Oct. 21 in Nottingham, England.
Carey confirmed on July 23 that she will appear as a judge on "American Idol" next season. "As a singer, songwriter and producer, it's going to be fun and rewarding to help find new talent and give back with 'American Idol,' " Carey said at the time. "I can't wait to channel my creative energy as a part of this show, which is a massive global phenomenon."
Others rumored to be in consideration include Nick Jonas - who tweeted, "I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidol" - Miley Cyrus and N.E.R.D. rapper Pharrell Williams, according to Us Weekly.
