Third time’s not the charm when it comes to “Sex and the City.”

Despite rumors that the franchise might put out a third flick, Candace Bushnell — whose column in The New York Observer spawned the HBO series, books and movies — doesn’t think it’ll ever happen.

“No — look, [star] Sarah Jessica Parker is 47,” Bushnell said in an interview with The Daily Beast. “I mean, I think it was coming to the end of what they could do with the character.”

In fact, Bushnell didn’t buy the end of the series, in which Bradshaw and Mr. Big (Chris Noth) end up happily ever after.

“Realistically, a middle-aged woman who was married without children would be much more focused on her career and less focused on this Mr. Big: ‘Does he love me?’ ‘Does he still not love me?’”

“In real life, I don’t think women end up with that character, and if they do, they usually get divorced ...” she told the web site.

Bushnell is a fan of The CW’s prequel “The Carrie Diaries,” however, though the show may not get a second season.
