We’re seriously happy for Neil Patrick Harris and longtime parner David Burtka!
Hours after New York legalized gay marriage, NPH confirmed his engagement to Burtka, an actor and chef with whom he has two 8-month-old twins.
The “How I Met Your Mother” star took to Twitter to announce the happy news and admitted that while they did technically decide to get hitched years ago, the senate’s ruling now means they can finally make it official.
“David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago,” Harris tweeted on Saturday. “We’ve been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date.”
NPH wasn’t the only celeb rejoicing about New York’s passage of the Marriage Equality Bill. Here’s what other stars said via Twitter about the historic decision.
