Mayor Michael Bloomberg presided over the groundbreaking Monday of Manhattan's largest new construction project under his administration's housing plan. The mixed-use development at 550 W. 45th St. will take up almost an entire block in the Far West Side, and includes a 31-story tower. Here's what the project entails:

1,238: New apartments being built with half designated as "affordable"

2,500: Estimated number of tenants

2,900: Constructions jobs to be created

2014: Year the residential units will be finished

$520 million: Project's cost funded primarily by state bonds
