Big Apple job hunters looking for work in the New Year may have nothing to celebrate.
A Manpower Employment Outlook Survey released Tuesday found that while 13% of New York-area employers plan to hire more staff in the first quarter of 2012, that same percentage of employers also plan to cut jobs. The flat hiring outlook is down compared to positive gains forecasted for a year ago.
"Employers are cautious. For job seekers, it's a matter of being very committed," said John Garofalo, Manpower regional director.
