Pace football player's lawyer: EMTs ignored kid

Pace University football player Danroy DJ Henry, shot by police early Sunday in Westchester after allegedly striking an officer with his car, lay dying and handcuffed for about 15 minutes as a medical team tended to a cop with less serious injuries, a lawyer for the 20-year-olds family told the New York Post yesterday.

Henry's family hired civil rights attorney Michael Sussman because "we are deeply troubled by the conflicting accounts," they said in a statement.

Police said officers fired upon Henry after he hit two of them with his car while driving away from a brawl at a Thornwood, N.Y., bar Sunday.

Officers were unaware that Henry had been shot, and they removed the cuffs and tended to him when made aware of his condition, Mount Pleasant police told CNN.
