Padma Lakshmi is embroiled in a heated custody battle over her baby girl with former beau and the child’s father Adam Dell, who charges that the “Top Chef” host said she hoped he wasn’t the dad, according to published reports.

In court documents filed in Manhattan yesterday, Dell, 41, said Lakshmi reportedly is trying to keep him out of their daughter Krishna’s life and is encouraging the 11-month-old to call her new boyfriend “papa.”

Lakshmi was “sexually involved with [new boyfriend and 70-year-old IMG head] Ted Forstmann as well as with [Dell] during the time she got pregnant,” and “made clear to [Dell] her hope that Forstmann was the child’s biological father,” the suit said.

A 2009 DNA test confirmed Dell is the father.

Dell, the brother of computer magnate Michael Dell, wants full custody and Krishna’s name changed to Krishna Lakshmi Dell from Krishna Thea Lakshmi on her birth certificate.

Dell also contends in the suit that Lakshmi, 40, called him “unambitious” with an “uninteresting” career and “unmemorable” friends.

When Krishna was born on Feb. 22 last year, the suit says Lakshmi, who was once married to author Salman Rushdie, kept Dell out of the delivery room but allowed him to visit the child the next day. She didn’t, however, allow him to take any pictures.

Dell's lawyer, Bill Zabel, told the New York Post that his client just "wants to have an active and substantial role in the upbringing of his daughter.” A rep for Lakshmi told the tab that "Mr. Dell remains more interested in garnering media attention than working out details to see Krishna or in her welfare."
