Paris Hilton, hotel heiress and sex tape star, made waves after a recording surfaced Thursday in which she claims gay men are "disgusting."

In a Radar-exclusive tape, a New York City cab driver recorded an early morning Sept. 7 conversation between Hilton, 31, and a male friend discussing gay men.

After her friend explains what Grindr, an all-male social networking site, is, Hilton can be heard responding, "Eww ... Gay guys are the horniest people in the world."

She then adds: "They're disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS."

Hilton's rep defended "The Hottie and the Nottie" star in a statement to Radar, saying she is "a huge supporter of the gay community."

"Paris Hilton's comments were to express that it is dangerous for anyone to have unprotected sex that could lead to a life threatening disease."

At another point in the conversation, Hilton repeats her sentiments, saying, "I'd be so scared if I were a gay guy. You'll, like, die of AIDS."

Hilton's rep did not respond to requests for comment.
