Police were questioning a "person of interest" Monday in the murder of a beloved Chelsea florist known for carrying a pet cockatoo on his shoulder.

Surveillance video showed John Laubach, 57, who was found dead in his apartment Friday, accompanied at his West 22nd Street building by two men. One of the men is believed to be the one being questioned by police, the New York Post reported.

Cops are also searching for the other man in the video and trying to locate the person who attempted to use Laubach's ATM card at a nearby Chase Bank. Police are also investigating the whereabouts of Laubach's missing laptop, the Post said.

Laubach, a former florist who was active in the Church of the Ascension on Fifth Avenue, was discovered by a friend inside his ransacked apartment, bound to his bed and wearing only a tee-shirt with his mouth duct-taped shut. Acquaintances told reporters that Laubach often helped out needy young men and took them home.
