Pol: If cops want to work in New York City, they should live here too

Future NYPD recruits would have to live in one of the five boroughs under a bill state Assemb. Hakeem Jeffries plans to introduce this week.

The Brooklyn pol, outraged over offensive rants allegedly made by cops on Facebook about West Indian Day paradegoers, said he favors residency requirement to foster “greater empathy” between cops and community members.

His spokeswoman said any member of New York’s Finest already employed and living outside of the city would be grandfathered in.
